Carey Honor Band
This is Carey Honor Band clinic year five and it promises to be the best yet! Last year, due to incredible growth, we made the leap to two honor bands and it was a huge success! Again this year, our top band will be the Red Band and the second band will be the White Band. The conductor for the Red Band this year will be Mr. Jerrell Horton. Mr. Horton is the band director at Vestavia Hills High School, in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, just outside of Birmingham. Under his direction the Vestavia Hills band program has experienced tremendous success in all phases of the program. He is a tremendous musician and a man of very high moral character and we are blessed to have him this year as the conductor of the Red Band for the 2017 Carey Honor Band Clinic. Congratulations on your nomination for consideration to be a part of this annual event. The three-day honor band will be filled with great concerts and pleasant surprises. Students make certain that your director nominates you this year…you don’t want to miss it! I pray the event has a great impact on your life as a musician and as a young person.
