Dr. Irene Dearman is an associate professor and statistician in the William Carey School of Education. Dr. Dearman began her tenue at William Carey University in 2016. She has been an educator and administrator for 35 years in various settings. She has taught since 1987 at every level in education. Prior to her appointment at William Carey University, she taught at the elementary level, the middle school level, the high school level, and the IHL level. Additionally, she was an administrator in school and district settings. She served as the Regional Service Center Director for the University of Southern Mississippi and taught in the Department of Research and Educational Studies. Dr. Dearman has also worked as an educational consultant where she developed and conducted professional development across the state of Mississippi. At William Carey University, Dr. Dearman teaches classes that guide doctoral candidates through the dissertation process and serves on many dissertation committees as a statistician. She is married to Dr. Scott Dearman, a retired superintendent of education. They have two children, Sarah and Greg, who are both William Carey University graduates. They also have two grandchildren, Kennedi and Colt. Dr. Dearman is an active member of First Baptist Church in Beaumont where she serves as a Sunday School teacher.
