Message from the Dean
Welcome, and thank you for visiting our website! The School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences (SNBS) at William Carey University strives to improve the scientific literacy of all WCU students by providing a number of excellent opportunities for comprehensive undergraduate and graduate education within a Christian environment.
The faculty and staff of SNBS are talented, cohesive, and compassionate Christian individuals who value our roles as mentors and take serious the WCU commitment to foster student excellence. Our students are challenged to expand their analytical skills, gain hands-on experience within a number of field settings, and develop a spirit of service that will benefit the WCU and surrounding community.
Undergraduate majors in the natural and behavioral sciences (biology, mathematics, chemistry, and psychology) are designed to aid students in building highly marketable skills and abilities. Our graduates routinely secure employment in the local community or pursue graduate / professional study in the biological or chemical sciences, mathematics, medical and health occupations, law, business, education, and mental health arenas.
Graduate study within SNBS currently consists of our Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology program in which students have the opportunity develop advanced therapeutic relationship skills, enhance their utilization of psychological research to ameliorate human suffering, and hone their ability to foster resiliency and excellence in human performance.
Graduates of the program are prepared to assume counselor and leadership positions within private, non-profit, and state organizations. In fact, a number of our graduates pursue Mississippi licensure as professional counselors, school counselors, or school psychometricians.
Please take a moment to explore the departmental web pages for more specific information on our programs of study, and then contact us to arrange a campus visit. We hope you will elect to join us as we “Expect great things from God and attempt great things for God”.
