WCU BSU Group Travels to Brazil
Hattiesburg, MS, June 16, 2014 - A group from William Carey University's Baptist Student Union left on June 13 for an 18-day mission trip to Brazil. While there, the group is partnering with the International Mission Board (IMB) as part of "The Cross at the Cup" ministry. Student volunteers from all over the U.S. will minister to indigenous people groups and orphanages, as well as those in Brazil for the FIFA World Cup June 12 - July 13. The WCU BSU group will have an opportunity to attend some of the World Cup matches, as well.
Dr. Tim Glaze, director of BSU, and Shane Thrash, assistant director of BSU, are leading the WCU group. The students participating in the mission trip are Benjamin Austin of Zachary, LA.; Doris Bynum of Hattiesburg; James Carson of Hattiesburg; Margaret Edney of Vicksburg; Macie Foreman of Rayne, LA.; Andrew Glaze of Hattiesburg; James Hollingsworth III of Hattiesburg; Lauren Hummel of Hattiesburg; Hannah Hunter of Meridian; Jeremy Loris of Moss Point; Brooke Morgan of Hickory; Brooke Nicole Padgett of Purvis; Willa-Ann Renard of Cushing, OK., and Richard Sain of Crestview, FL.
