William Carey University Announces Open Tryouts for Women’s Volleyball
William Carey University will hold open tryouts for the inaugural women's volleyball team on Feb. 19 at Presbyterian Christian High School in Hattiesburg.
Registration will begin at 5:15 p.m. at the high school, which is located at 221 Bonhomie Road.
The team will begin competition in August and will be one of 11 women's volleyball programs competing in the Southern States Athletic Conference, a Division I affiliate of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Kelsea Seymour, formerly the volleyball coach at Oak Grove High School and the owner of the Hub City Volleyball Club, is the head coach.
Prospective players are asked to RSVP with Seymour prior to tryouts. If applicable, prospective players should bring a club volleyball 2016 schedule along with ACT/SAT scores and copies of high school or college transcripts. Tryouts are open to all high school seniors and community college athletes eligible for collegiate play.
