Carey Baseball Camp Prepares Young Players

Hattiesburg, MS, June 13, 2014 - William Carey University held the 2014 Bobby Halford Baseball Day Camp this week, June 9-13, at WCU’s Kennedy Sports Complex. The camp allows young players, ages 7-12, to improve their skills and learn new techniques. Halford said that the camp covers a wide variety of topics, including infield and outfield play as well as batting technique. He and the other coaches teach these young boys the proper way to hit, run, catch and throw, while giving individual pointers for personal improvement.

WCU will hold another baseball day camp for the same age group, June 23 - 27. The camp will be from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 9 a.m. - noon on Friday. The registration fee is $140, which includes camp insurance, a t-shirt, and lunch. Those interested can fill out an application at www.careyathletics.com.
