Carey Holds Scholarship Day
William Carey University hosted Scholarship Day for prospective freshman students with a composite ACT score of 24 and above and transfer students with a 3.5 grade point average and above at the Hattiesburg campus on January 23.
Prospective students were welcomed to the campus by personnel from the Office of Admissions and by Provost Dr. Scott Hummel. They were given campus tours led by the student ambassador group Carey Connection and heard about scholarship opportunities, including the Presidential Honors Program. The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Judy Prehn, associate professor and director of clinical education for the doctor of physical therapy program at Carey. Students were also able to enjoy lunch and meet individually with admissions counselors and faculty members.
Students interested in Carey may contact the Office of Admissions for a personal campus tour and visit with an admissions counselor by calling (601) 318-6051 or visiting www.wmcarey.edu. Interested students may also attend Super Saturday, an annual event allowing applicants for the summer and fall 2015 terms to meet with their academic advisors and register for classes while learning more about the university. The event will be held beginning at 9 a.m. on March 21 at both the Hattiesburg campus and the Biloxi Tradition campus.
