Chilean Pastor and Teacher Speaks at WCU Chapel

Hattiesburg, Miss., October 19, 20120 - Rene Yaitul, chaplain at Antofagasta Baptist College and pastor of Amisadai Baptist Church in Antofagasta Chile, served as guest speaker for William Carey University’s chapel service on October 10. Dr. Tim Glaze, director Baptist Student Union (BSU) and assistant professor of religion at WCU, translated for Yaitul. Accompanying Yaitul was Christian Godoy, an English teacher at Eben Ezer High School in Antofagasta who served as a translator.
Yaitul and Godoy’s visit was part of BSU’s Global Opportunity Week (GOweek), which was a week of “mobilizing students for the kingdom of God.”  A Mission Banquet was held at on October 11 in the Student Conference Center. The theme was “Mission Possible,” and all donations will go towards BSU’s summer mission goal of $10,013.
