Cofield Receives Clawson Scholarship

(left to right) Dr. Daniel Caldwell, professor of religion and dean of the Cooper School of Missions and Biblical Studies at William Carey University, presented the 2012-2013 William Clawson Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to Rev. Randall Cofield of Hattiesburg on behalf of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board of Ministerial Education. The Scholarship is named for Dr. William Clawson, professor emeritus of Bible, who taught religion courses at Carey from 1965-1988. Cofield is a sophomore biblical studies major and history minor who plans to attend seminary upon completion of his undergraduate studies. He is currently serving as pastor at Lakeside Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. Rev. Cofield’s wife, Cindy, is the director of alumni relations at Carey, and his son is a junior physical education major. Both of his daughters are graduates of WCU, as well.
