Marlowe Joins WCU Staff
Tradition, Miss., November 15, 2013 - Monica Miller Marlowe of Wiggins recently joined the William Carey University staff as chief advancement officer for the Tradition campus.
Marlowe formerly served as director of institutional relations and strategic communications and special assistant to the president at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) on the Perkinston Campus. Over the tenure of the 16 years she worked for MGCCC, she has held various positions, including coordinator of institutional development, assistant to the vice president of community campus, English instructor, secretary for workforce development, technical services librarian, and secretary for the assistant dean of the learning resources council (LRC).
Marlowe holds a Class AA license in English (to teach grades 7-12) and a Class A license in library (to work with grades K-12). She taught language arts and English at Stone Middle School in Wiggins in 2008, and served as a library/media specialist for Pecan Park Elementary School in Ocean Springs in 2000. Marlowe obtained an associate of arts degree from MGCCC in 1998, a B.A. in library and information sciences from The University of Southern Mississippi in 1999, and an M.Ed. from WCU's Hattiesburg Campus in 2008. She is also currently working on her Ph.D. in community college leadership through Mississippi State University.
