WCU Holds Summer Softball Camp

Hattiesburg, Miss., June 14, 2013 - The 2013 William Carey University Softball Day Camp was held this week, June 11-13, at Carey’s Kennedy Sports Complex, allowing girls of all ages to learn new techniques and practice their game. The camp was instructed by WCU Head Softball Coach Wendy Hogue along with Assistant Coach Craig Fletcher and a group of current and former Carey softball players.

The camp for girls ages 8-12 was held from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m., and the one for ages 13-18 from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. Coach Hogue said that the camp covered all aspects of the game of softball, from throwing to catching, hitting to running, and introduced the young girls to the game of fastpitch. On Thursday, both groups of campers were split into teams and played games of fastpitch softball with friends and family watching.
