WCU Offers Sports Management Master’s Degree
Hattiesburg, Miss., May 23, 2013 - William Carey University's School of Education, Health, and Physical Education will offer an Interscholastic Athletic Administration (IAA) degree beginning in Summer 2013. This is a Master of Education degree designed to meet the career aspirations of individuals desiring to pursue careers as athletic directors or in the business side of private sector sports organizations.
To apply for the program, go to www.wmcarey.edu/admissions-graduate. The deadline to apply is May 28. A mandatory orientation meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 5, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in Room 120 of Lorena Roseberry Smith Hall.
Summer Courses will be held Monday-Friday, June 17-July 19, with no classes during the 4th of July week.
The executive program will be completed in cohort program style over a period of 15 months including two summers of intensive class work on the Hattiesburg campus. Students will complete 12 hours each summer and 6 hours of approved electives during the Fall, Winter, or Spring trimesters, as well as a field work project. They will also participate in a mid-year interim session the first week of January, touring the New Orleans Super Dome and attending a job fair offering possible job opportunities in sports management.
