WCUCOM Holds First Residency Fair
Hattiesburg, Miss., November 15, 2013 - The William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine (WCUCOM) hosted its first Residency Fair on November 9 at the Jackie Dole Sherrill Community Center in downtown Hattiesburg. Representatives from 23 residency programs attended this event as well as students from all four WCUCOM classes. This event provided an opportunity for students to visit booths and discuss postgraduate options regarding internship and residencies.
The Class of 2014 will be the first WCUCOM class to participate in an annual Match Day. This event allows medical students from WCUCOM, and thousands of other medical students from around the country, to find out where they have "matched" for their residency training. Each student applies to many locations and on Match Day they find out where they matched. Students finally find out where they will spend the next three to six years training in their chosen specialty.
