The Student Success Center provides a wide array of services that focus on our students’ success throughout their college experience at William Carey University. Our services and programs are designed to connect you with the resources needed to achieve your academic and personal goals. Your success at William Carey is important to us!

Student Success Coaching

Student Success Coaching is available to all students at William Carey University. Student Success Coaching focuses on addressing specific areas of concern within academics and campus life. Topics typically covered in coaching sessions include organization skills, note-taking strategies, test preparation, test-taking strategies, managing test anxiety, study strategies, goal setting, and time management. Students are welcome to set up recurring weekly appointments or one-time individual appointments.

Tutoring

The Student Success Center offers students access to online tutoring from TutorMe.com. This online tutoring service provides Carey students with a live tutor 24 hours a day. Tutors are available to work with our students in a wide range of subjects. Tutoring sessions feature audio or video communication, screen sharing, a virtual whiteboard, and a chat feature to give students an efficient in-person lesson. TutorMe.com can be through students’ Indigo Portal.

Early Alert

The Early Alert program is a proactive system of communication and collaboration between university faculty/staff and the Student Success Center to improve the success rate of our students in the classroom, promote positive student development, and help increase student retention at William Carey. Through this program, our office seeks to identify at-risk students early and develop an academic success intervention plan to help students reach individualized academic success goals.

Early Alert

Early Alert referral qualifications include poor attendance or consistent tardiness, low participation or motivation, poor quality of work, late and/or missing assignments, low exam or quiz grades, a need to address student success skills such as time management or study skills, or academic concerns.

Career Services

The Student Success Center serves as a bridge between students’ college experience and life after William Carey through various career services and resources. Our career services and resources assist students in connecting with career exploration, planning, and employment opportunities. Students are welcome to stop by the Student Success Center for a variety of services, including resume assessments, career assessments, and to explore job opportunities. The Student Success Center also hosts career-based workshops and career fair events.
