Meet the Dean

Dr. Frank Baugh

Dr. Frank G. Baugh was named Dean of the School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences in 2007. He joined the Carey faculty in 2005 as an assistant professor of psychology. He was promoted to the position of dean of graduate programs and dean of the School of Psychology and Counseling in 2006. The School of Psychology and Counseling was reorganized in 2007 and renamed the School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences.

Dr. Baugh served as the associate dean of academics affairs for the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) from its inception in 2008 while maintaining his full-time responsibilities as dean of the sciences and graduate programs. He retired from the COM in 2012.

Dr. Baugh is also Carey’s Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Prior to joining Carey, Dr. Baugh completed a doctoral residency (2003-2004) in clinical psychology with an emphasis in behavioral medicine, trauma at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. Following his residency, he accepted a postdoctoral fellowship (2004-2005) in consulting with the Veterans Health Administration National Center for Organization Development in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he provided business consultation services to senior leadership of Veteran Affairs Medical Centers nationwide.

Dr. Baugh’s professional, civic, and community activities are numerous. He maintains professional interest in program development, sport and performance enhancement consultation, organization development, psychological preparedness, emotional competence and psychotherapy.
