Welcome and thank you visiting our website! The School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences (SNBS) at William Carey University strives to improve the scientific literacy of al WCU students by providing a number of excellent opportunities for comprehensive undergraduate and graduate education within a Christian environment.

The faculty and staff of SNBS are talented, cohesive, and compassionate Christian Individuals who value our roles as mentor and take serious the WCU commitment to foster student excellence. Our students are challenged to expand their analytical skills, gains hands-on experience within a number of field settings, and develop a spirit of service that will benefit the WCU and surrounding community.

Undergraduate in natural and behavioral Sciences (biology, mathematics, chemistry, and psychology) are designed to aid students in building highly marketable skills and abilities. Our graduates routinely secure our employment in the local community or pursue graduate/ professional study in biological or chemical sciences, mathematics, medical and health occupations, law business, education and mental health arenas.

Graduate study within SNBS currently consists of our Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology program in which students have the opportunity develop advanced therapeutic relationship skills, enhance their utilization of psychology research to ameliorate human suffering, and hone their ability to foster resiliency and excellence in human performance.

Graduates of the program are prepared to assume counselor and leadership positions within private, non-profit, and state organizations. In fact, a number of our graduates pursue Mississippi licensure as professional counselors, school counselors, or school psychometricians.

Hattiesburg, Miss., October 15, 2013 - William Carey University’s Dr. Kelly Caffery, instructor of biology and psychology, will be holding an Enrichment Day at the Hattiesburg Zoo for her animal behavior class on October 19 at 11a.m. They will be making and presenting enrichment items to several different animals at the zoo including the jaguar, tiger, servals, lemurs, and other primates.
