Dr. Jeremy Morgan currently serves as chair of the department of music, coordinator of music education, and coordinator of instrumental activities. He joined the faculty of William Carey University in July of 2013 and since that time has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in music education, as well as undergraduate courses in applied trumpet, orchestration, and music technology. Prior to joining the Carey family, Dr. Morgan taught band in the public schools of Alabama and Mississippi for ten years. In that time, his bands earned superior ratings at the local, state, and national level. In addition to his teaching responsibilities at WCU, Dr. Morgan frequently presents clinics on leadership and breathing techniques, and serves as an adjudicator for high school band festivals and competitions. Dr. Morgan's current research interests and efforts focus on the role of Winter Guard International in music education and music education in homeschool settings. Prior to his teaching career, Dr. Morgan was blessed to work with Walt Disney Entertainment in Orlando, FL where he worked in entertainment production and as a performer in a variety of roles. Dr. Morgan married his wife, Jamie, in 2003, and they have two children, Reese and Briley. They are members of Hardy Street Baptist Church where Dr. Morgan serves as Orchestra Director.
