Mr. Dykes has a Bachelor’s of Music Education degree from William Carey and a Masters of Trombone Performance degree from Lee University. He is a skilled performer with exceptional talent in both classical and jazz trombone. Trombonists benefit from his multifaceted skill set by having the opportunity to explore new methods, or broaden the depth of their current methods and styles of performance. As a studio teacher, Mr. Dykes strives to move his studio to ever increasing heights of performance. Besides multiple ensembles and recitals at both William Carey and Lee University, Mr. Dykes has performed with the Chattanooga Symphony, Meridian Symphony, and several other regional orchestras, bands, and jazz bands. In addition to teaching the trombone studio, he is the director of the Carey Big Band, the Carey Brass Chamber Ensemble, Trombone ensembles, and teaches music theory.
