2019 Vaping Summit
This one-hour event will feature a presentation of data on the severe lung disease being seen in association with the use of e-cigarette products from the State Epidemiologist. The Mississippi State Department of Health’s response to the issue will also be discussed. A pulmonologist and pediatrician will describe the effects of vaping on adults and young people using e-cigarette products.
- Dr. Richard Calderone is currently a faculty member for the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency program. He is also a member of the National Health Service Corps, serving with the Southeast Mississippi Rural Health Initiative.
- Dr. Steven Stogner is a pulmonologist with Hattiesburg Clinic and serves as vice president of Hattiesburg Clinic’s Board of Directors. He is also medical director of Forrest General Hospital Critical Care Unit.
The Vaping Summit will be held in Lecture Room 1 at the WCU College of Osteopathic Medicine. It is sponsored by the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association and the Mississippi State Medical Association.
