ODK chapter inducts 21 new members
William Carey University recently inducted 21 students into Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society.
"To be selected, students must excel in the classroom, but ODK's missions and values emphasize much more than simply academic excellence, which distinguishes ODK from other honor societies," said advisor Jay Richardson.
Students inducted were: Benjamin Brockway, Brian Cloys, Patience Dearmon, Taylor Dowdy, Alexander Dupree, Hannah Gravley, Kaitlyn Hyde, William Kelly, Lindsay Knight, Sari Lada, Branden Lindsay, Brooke Rogers, Anna Sanford, Jamie Sholar, Matthew Snell, McKayla Strebeck, Abigail Sullivan, Claresta Tasman, Kaitlyn Thompson, Kyle Wilhelm and B. Lane Williamson.
Membership in Omicron Delta Kappa is granted to those who demonstrate leadership achievements in one of five phases of campus life:
- Scholarship
- Athletics
- Campus or community service, social and religious activities, and campus government
- Journalism, speech and mass media
- Creative and performing arts
Members are expected to demonstrate the five ODK ideals: scholarship, service, integrity, character and fellowship.
