William Carey University student Taylor Dowdy was among 20 students selected to attend the Sigma Beta Delta Leadership Academy in Bentonville, Arkansas, October 5-7. Participants in the program are challenged to develop personal leadership skills so they will be better prepared for future leadership positions in business, government, and industry and to continue the development of the long-term impact of Sigma Beta Delta.
During the three-day event, students will learn about different leadership styles and their own leadership strengths. They also will interact with local leaders who will share what they think it takes to be a leader in today’s fast-paced society. Students will have the opportunity to meet top executives from major companies in Bentonville and to participate in panel discussions with the students. The event also includes activities that focus on teamwork, communication, and solving current leadership challenges.
Sigma Beta Delta is an international honor society for business, management and administration.
Dowdy is from Hattiesburg and is a senior majoring in business administration.
