Gulf South Teaching Pedagogy Conference
The William Carey University School of Education will host the 2017 Gulf South Teaching Pedagogy Conference Oct. 20-21 at the WCU campus in Hattiesburg. This year’s theme is “Differentiated Instruction for a Diverse Population.”
Check-in will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 in the Student Conference Center. Dr. Jennifer B. Schnakernberg will open the conference at 4:30 p.m. with a presentation on vocabulary and comprehension.
Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with greetings and introductions by Dr. Noal Cochran, director of education at the WCU Tradition campus. The keynote speaker for the evening is National Teacher of the Year Shanna Peeples, who will speak about “Differentiated Instruction for Diverse Cultures.”
Thematic sessions will be offered Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch will be served.
This conference is offered as a community service and is presented at no charge to WCU education students, as well as all Mississippi educators. Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits are available.
