WCU medical school hosts Hospital Day
Medical recruiters from all over the Southeast came to speak with William Carey University medical students about clinical rotations and residencies on Oct. 11, as the WCU College of Osteopathic Medicine hosted “Hospital Day.”
Dr. Eric Woods is a resident physician who represented the University of Mississippi Medical Center at the event. He is a 2018 alumnus of the WCU College of Osteopathic Medicine. In the photo, Woods is shown seated with, from left, COM faculty member Dr. Eva Shay and WCU medical students Allen Byl, Abena Obeng and Alvin Lee.
“The best part of the day was visiting with eight WCU College of Osteopathic Medicine graduates who came back to represent their residency programs,” said Dr. Makayla Merritt, WCUCOM’s director of clinical rotations.
“It is inspiring for our current students to see our graduates out in the ‘real world’ as resident physicians – and know that there is light at the end of the tunnel!”
