WCU-Tradition Campus hosts Honors Day
William Carey University’s Tradition campus hosted its 2022 Honors Day ceremony on May 4.
“Honors Day is one of our most special occasions because it gives us an opportunity to celebrate not just students’ academic achievements, but also their contributions to our university and community. The students who were recognized were nominated by their advisors for academic excellence, perseverance and service to others,” said Dr. Cassandra Conner, dean of the WCU-Tradition campus.

Biological Sciences- Outstanding Academic Achievement in Biological Sciences – Michelle Smith of Gulfport
Business- Outstanding Management/Marketing Student – Gustavo Nazrio Vinet of Diamondhead
Criminal Justice - Dr. Don Cabana Undergraduate Award – Jason Lillis of D’Iberville
- Graduate Criminal Justice Award – Mary Grace Turner of Leakesville
Education - Debra Herring Excellence in Elementary Education Award – Wendy Chambers of D’Iberville
- Debra Herring Scholarship for Education Majors – Lisa Besancon of Ocean Springs
- Outstanding Student Teacher Award – Robin Byrd of Lucedale
- Outstanding Graduate Student Award – Glenda Valle Cilliers of Gulfport
Nursing - Nurse Crusader Award (February 2022) – Tina Ladner of Saucier
