SARA Information

  2. SARA Information

Online and Distance Students from outside of Mississippi

As a member of NC-SARA (National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements), William Carey University is authorized to offer online classes and programs to students from other states that are SARA members. You may apply to online programs at William Carey University if you live in a SARA state.

See Sara States and Institutions HERE.

Complaint Resolution

William Carey University encourages you to resolve issues or complaints using the William Carey Policy on Student Complaints.  If you feel you have exhausted the Carey complaint procedures and are still not satisfied, you may contact the NC-SARA State Portal Entity for Mississippi.

Withdrawal and Drop/Add Refund Policy

A reduction of tuition and fees is calculated when a student drops classes or withdraws from school. The percentage used in the calculation will be based on the week during which the class was officially dropped. These dates and percentages can be found on the attached schedule of dates. Students withdrawing from the university after the start of classes will not receive a refund for residence hall or board fees. Prepayments are returned in accordance with the agreements under which they are made.

The Withdrawal and Drop/Add Refund Policy can be found here.

Adverse Actions

As of November 1, 2019, no adverse actions related to our online degree programs have been initiated by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) or the National Council of State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) against William Carey University for the past five years.

Professional Licensure

William Carey does not guarantee that the programs that satisfy licensure in Mississippi will meet the standards for licensure in other states or territories.  If the field you are studying requires professional licensure, you must be aware of the license requirements in the state in which you plan to work.  Professional fields require licensure and the licensing requirements vary in each state.  Before beginning any academic program that leads to licensure, refer to the appropriate licensing agency.

It is strongly recommended that students make sure that the degree you earn will meet the requirements for licensure in the state in which you plan to work before you apply and begin the program.  For more information, contact the department chair for specific program requirements.  More information will be available soon.
