The William Carey University transcript is the official documentation of a student’s permanent academic record validated with the University seal, facsimile signature of the registrar, and date of issue. A key to the transcript is included, which contains a full statement of pertinent definitions. Any alteration of the transcript is strictly prohibited.

The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, (FERPA), protects student rights regarding educational records maintained by educational institutions. In accordance with FERPA, WCU will not release official transcript information regarding any student without the consent of the student.

Transcript requests cannot be filled for any student with an admissions or registrar hold or with a financial obligation to the University. Transcript requests will be voided, and requests will need to be resubmitted.

Current or former William Carey University students may order transcripts online via the student portal for easier account setup. Transcript requests are normally processed within 5 business days of receiving the request provided all information is correct and holds are cleared. During peak times of high-volume requests (ex., end of terms), you may experience longer processing times. Plan accordingly, and refrain from submitting duplicate transcript orders and calling the Registrar’s Office to check on the status of your request. Below you will find instructions to check on your status. We appreciate your patience as we fill requests in the order in which they are received.

Student Holds

Students may view holds in their Indigo Portal account. It is the student’s responsibility to clear holds with the appropriate office. If there is no response from the student within five business days, the request is voided. The student may request a refund from Parchment and will need to submit another transcript request. Please refrain from calling the Registrar’s Office to check on the status of a request. Transcript status can be checked in your Parchment account.

A confirmation email will be sent confirming the order and containing the order number. The request is sent to WCU for review. If the request is connected to a hold, an email is sent for the student to clear. The transcript office will proceed to review and process. If clear, Parchment will send the transcript.
