We have lots of fun and entertaining activities for all of our students, and we are sure you will find plenty of opportunities to get involved at Carey.

International Welcome Back Event

An annual event that recognizes our new and returning international students. Free food, fellowship,fun ..and prizes!!

International Iron Chef Challenge

Hosted by MMI Catering services, the Iron Chef challenge allows international students to showcase a dish from their home country and compete for best recipe.

International Food Fair

Hosted by the Baptist Student Union, the International Food Fair is an annual campus favorite during Missions Emphasis Week. International students wear traditional native dress and prepare native food dishes for Carey students, faculty, and staff to sample. Truly a culinary trip around the globe!

International Student Organization

A student organization whose goal is to foster understanding and better relationships among students from different countries by sharing our different cultures within the Carey Community.

Free Float Friday

Enjoy a free float with ice cream scooped by faculty and staff. A great way to get to know your instructors and administrators!

Carey Fest

Annual student celebration featuring live music, free food, games, and much more!

Café Du Monde Night

Come enjoy a southern delicacy... beignets! These fried pastries are a popular New Orleans cuisine. Truly a taste of the south!

Activity Nights

Bowling nights, Skate nights, Laser Tag nights, and movie nights

Theater Productions

The WCU theatre department performs each trimester. WCU is one of two schools in Mississippi to advance to the national festival and boasts national winners in costume and playwriting as well as numerous regional winners in costume, make-up and dramaturgy.

Intramural Sports

Open to all students, sports include flag football, dodgeball, kickball, soccer, basketball, ultimate Frisbee, tennis, rugby and many more!

Homecoming

Annual event connecting current Carey students with alumni young and old. A fun-filled week of events culminating in the annual Crawfish Boil and crowing of the homecoming queen elected by the student body.

Athletic Events

Come out and support your favorite Crusader athletic team! Carey athletics include baseball, basketball, softball, soccer, golf, tennis, cross-country, track and field!

Miss William Carey University Pageant

Female students compete for the title of Miss William Carey University with events in evening gown, lifestyle and fitness, talent, and interview. The winner advances to represent the university at the Miss Mississippi Pageant, a preliminary for the Miss America pageant.

Greek Rush Week

Ladies can choose to rush for one of the two female social clubs on campus—Gamma Chi and Pi Omega. Focused on sisterhood and community service, these social clubs are great ways for ladies to get involved and develop lasting friendships. Rush Week occurs each fall allowing students to participate in a variety of events to determine which social club is right for them.

Vesper Service and Hanging of the Greens

The university's campus-wide Christmas celebration held annually.

Complimentary lunch provided by local churches each week to current students.

A weekly worship service led by the Baptist Student Union praise band with small group discussions and speakers from the student body, faculty, and local churches.

Community Service Opportunities

Students have a chance to give back to the community by helping local charitable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, American Heart Association HeartWalk, summer athletic campus, local churches and many more! A great way to meet other students and members of the community, build character, and help those in need!
