During the Covid-19 pandemic, to accommodate those students that need or prefer a “contactless” audition experience, we have made Online Scholarship Auditions available to all students interested in Carey Music! Below is the information regarding auditions:
Wind Instrumentalists: please submit two major scales (preferably 2 octaves) and one prepared piece
Percussion: On snare drum, please demonstrate 3 rudiments (I would like to see the Paradiddle - slow-fast-slow and 2 rudiments of your choice) along with a prepared etude. For mallet, 3 scales of your choice and a prepared piece.
Strings: two major scales and two contrasting pieces
Piano and Guitar: two contrasting pieces
Vocalists: please submit two selections from art songs, musical theater, and/or hymn selections
