Degree Applications

Application for Degree, BA- Intercultural StudiesApplication for Degree, BA- Intercultural StudiesStudents who are candidates for February (New Orleans) and May degrees on the Hattiesburg, Gulfport, and New Orleans campuses are required to file applications for their degrees in the office of the registrar by October 15 prior to graduation. Candidates for August graduation must file application for their degrees by March 31. Late applications may be taken within 30 working days of these deadlines. There will be a $50.00 late fee in addition to the graduation fee. If the late deadline is missed, the candidate will be moved to the next scheduled graduation ceremony.

Guidelines for Completing Application for Degree

Review the options of degree applications and select the appropriate degree form; i.e, BA (Bachelor of Arts), BS (Bachelor of Science), etc.

  • Download the form so that you can make data entry.
    Enter only your official name(s). No nicknames, please.
  • Enter course number and grades using your mouse and arrow keys. Fill in an entire column at a time; i.e., enter all course prefixes and numbers, move to hours column and fill in all hours, move to grades column and fill in all grades. If you find it necessary to add a line space, be sure it does not extend the form to a second page.
  • Enter only the courses required/necessary to complete your degree requirements. For courses still to be taken, enter the course number and hours if you and your advisor have agreed on specific requirements. If you only know the number of hours needed to complete degree requirements, enter the hours for each course. As you complete degree requirements, all remaining information will be entered by the Registrar’s Office.

After you have entered all courses, hours, and grades, take your application to your advisor(s) for signature and then to the Business Office for payment. After payment, submit your application to the Registrar’s Office.

To avoid late fees and to make sure you are included in your anticipated graduation ceremony, your application must be in the Registrar’s Office by the application deadline.
