Perspectives on Mars: Jan. 26
Dr. Mimi Gerstell will present a talk on “Perspectives on Mars” on Friday, Jan. 26 at 1:30 p.m. in Green Science Building (room 108) at William Carey University. The talk will address the problems of making the Martian atmosphere habitable for life and her discovery of a distinct class of avalanche scars on Mars.
Gerstell was formerly the head of the department of engineering sciences at the Jensen Beach Campus of the Florida Institute of Technology and researched at the planetary science section at California Institute of Technology for 15 years. She is the author of “The Trigonometric Travelogue” and “Fish Stories by a Scientific Nobody.” Gerstell holds degrees from Harvard and California Institute of Technology.
