WCU welcomes Prentiss Christian School carolers
Prentiss Christian School students from Mr. Jeremy Nix’s Spanish classes visited William Carey University on Nov. 8. They observed classes, sang Christmas carols in Spanish with WCU students at Missions Plaza – and posed for a photo at the “Merry Carey Christmas” booth. Later, they enjoyed Mexican hot chocolate and Mexican sweet breads.
It’s the latest installment in a partnership with two WCU Spanish teachers, Dr. Cheryl Maqueda and Dr. Janie Covarrubias, who visit Nix’s Spanish classes and speak at Honor Society events.
Nix is an alumnus of William Carey University. He graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree, triple majoring in Spanish, history, and religion. In 2019, he earned a second WCU degree, a master’s degree in education, with a concentration in social science.
