Accreditation

William Carey University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges

Our online programs offer a flexible learning environment that allows you to continue your education without traveling to campus each week.  It is important to know that online courses follow our trimester schedule and include weekly readings, research, active participation and assignments.  These classes are just as demanding as traditional, face-to-face courses.   As you plan your schedule, you should review the program requirements in the online catalog and complete the eLearning Advising worksheet prior to talking with your advisor.  This will ensure that you get the classes you need and want to fit your academic and professional goals.

Advising at Carey

Each student is assigned to an academic advisor upon admission to the university. The Registrar works with chairs and deans of the various departments or schools to assign advisors based upon declared majors. Initial advising is done in face-to-face meetings with residential and local students and by phone and email with online students. Upon admission to the online campus, a student is assigned an advisor who will contact the student through their new William Carey student email in order to assist in planning a program of study. Even though the advisor assists the student in choosing courses, the student is responsible for registering for required courses and meeting all obligations and expectations for the program of study chosen.
