All students wishing to receive federal financial aid MUST complete a Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA can be completed electronically at http://www.fafsa.gov.

Students (and parent, if a dependent) must register for an FSA User ID and password at https://fsaid.ed.gov.

Be sure that William Carey University's school code is on the FAFSA; our school code is 002447. To add or remove school codes on the FAFSA, visit http://www.fafsa.gov and make corrections to the  processed Student Aid Report.

Students applying for Stafford and Graduate PLUS Loans must first complete a loan request form with the Office of Financial Aid. 

Parents who are applying for Parent PLUS loans need to complete the online application at www.studentloans.gov. If approved for the Parent PLUS, a loan request form must also be completed with the Office of Financial Aid.

  1. Complete a new Master Promissory Note at studentloans.gov. This step is required for all new and continuing students. It requires your Federal Student Aid Identification (FSA ID) to log in and electronically sign the MPN.
  2. Entrance Counseling must be completed by first-time borrowers at studentloans.gov. This also requires the FSA ID. Upon graduation, students must complete the Exit Counseling at the same website with the same FSA ID.
