The objective of the Instructional Leadership Specialist is to prepare instructional leaders to be caring, reflective decision-makers. This program will equip candidates to become change agents for positively impacting students’ lives socially, emotionally, and academically. With flexible course offerings, this program is convenient for full-time working professionals. The Specialist in Instructional Leadership leads to the 481 - Teacher Leader Endorsement.

Program Overview


Hours

This program is 30 hours and may be completed in five terms of 15 months. This program begins every spring, summer, and fall term.


Delivery Method

Classes are delivered fully online, making this program ideal for the working student who wants to take their education to the next level. Students will take two courses each term, eight 5-week courses and two 10-week courses. The 5-week courses move quickly and are rigorous to prepare students to be instructional leaders. William Carey uses Canvas as the learning management system for online coursework.


Applicant Prerequisites & Requirements

Prospective students must:

Complete an online application & pay application fee

Submit official transcripts to Graduate Admissions via eScript or mailed from the institution

Hold an approved master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.25+

Have completed 30 hours of graduate work

Hold or qualify to hold a Class A teacher’s license or complete waiver of licensure form

Provide two references from past or current supervisors
