Tradition Campus
The Tradition Campus of William Carey University is committed to serving the needs of the Gulf Coast region.
As we listen to our community partners, we have been responsive with course and program offerings, hosting community events, and offering students access to the educational resources they need to prepare for a career, advance an existing career, change paths or simply develop new skills.
As the anchor of the Tradition Medical City we are proud to offer quality healthcare programs in critical care areas such as nursing and pharmacy. Our School of Pharmacy is the first professional school on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and graduates will earn a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. Through the Tradition Campus Gulf Coast residents have access to many specialized degree programs thus enhancing the educational opportunities for the local and regional area.
Undergraduate and graduate degree options provide students access to programs in nursing, education, criminal justice, health related professions, psychology, counselor education, and business administration. Many of the classes are structured for working students with night and online offerings to meet the needs of our local community. Our Tradition students enjoy university life in a small campus setting and have an opportunity get to know their professors and peers.
In 2012, Governor Phil Bryant signed into law the Mississippi Health Care Industry Zone to promote the growth of the health care industry in Mississippi. This act expands access to high-quality medical care for Mississippi residents and increases the number of health care jobs in the state. The legislation created a business incentive program, known as the Mississippi Health Care Industry Zone Incentive Program, to encourage health care-related businesses to locate or expand within a qualified Health Care Zone in the state.
The Tradition Campus is a designated Health Care Industry Zone therefore, health care-related businesses locating within a five-mile radius of the campus can qualify for Health Care Industry Zone incentives. Within minutes of Interstate 10 and Highway 49 the campus is uniquely situated on the Gulf Coast to meet the higher education needs of the local and regional community.
