A student who majors in the School of Business may earn the Bachelor of Science in Business (B.S.B.) degree, the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree, or the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. Concentrations are offered in accounting, computer information systems, finance, international business, management/marketing, and workforce training and management.

Management/marketing, computer information systems, and workforce training and management concentrations are available on the Tradition campus.

Program Overview

Hours

The business administration major requires the completion of 120 hours for a concentration in international business and the completion of 128 hours for concentrations in accounting, computer information systems, finance, management/marketing, and workforce training and management. All students majoring in business administration must complete 45 hours of professional core requirements and 15-18 hours of a concentration area in business.

Concentrations are offered in in the following areas:

The undergraduate Accounting program at William Carey School of Business prepares students for successful careers in business accounting. The program provides students with excellent mathematical skills, as well as analytical tools and problem-solving methods. Coursework will include finance, taxation, auditing, and more. Successful completion of this program may prepare students for licensure as a Certified Public Accountant, depending on their state's requirements.

Career Outlooks

Graduates of this program will be eligible to sit for the CPA exam, and will be qualified for these career possibilities and more:
Government and Nonprofit Accounting, Public Accounting, Tax Accounting, Tax Preparation, Bookkeeping, Budget Analysis, Comptroller, Financial Controller, & more.

CIS training at William Carey University focuses on the business applications of various computer systems. Students in this program will learn all about networks, systems, and database administration, along with business analysis and supporting coursework to help them develop a thorough understanding of how technology can be used to improve organizational processes and decisions.

The undergraduate Finance concentration at William Carey School of Business prepares students success in both finance and business in public, corporate, and governmental organizations. Students will graduate from the program equipped with both a foundational business knowledge and the analytical and professional skills needed to navigate the world of business. Coursework will cover capital markets, investments, bank and capital management, & more.

The William Carey School of Business’ International Business undergraduate concentration prepares students to be innovative, effective leaders anywhere in the world by providing foundational business knowledge and a deep understanding of how markets and information flow from one country to the next. Students will study business from an international perspective with thorough and engaging coursework in economics, finance, management, and more.

Applicant Prerequisites & Requirements

Prospective Students Must:

  • Complete an application for admissions (available here) and pay application fee
  • Submit all official transcripts, records, and test scores required by the University
  • Have a minimum high school GPA of 2.0 and a minimum score of 20 on the ACT or 1030 on the SAT
