William Carey University Transition to Semester Calendar Effective Fall 2025

 

On April 25, 2024, William Carey University’s Board of Trustees approved a transition from the current trimester calendar to a semester-based calendar. This change will take effect in Fall 2025.

 

William Carey University is dedicated to supporting both current and prospective students during this period, ensuring the continued provision of an excellent educational experience. Students are encouraged to prepare for this transition and may contact their advisors with questions about their program of study.

Your first step to becoming a Crusader:

You'll only need some personal information, education history, and a payment method for your application fee to submit your application. After we have reviewed your application, we will let you know anything else that you need to have submitted to William Carey.

First year college students need:

  • An official ACT, SAT, or CLT score sent to WCU.
    • For ACT requests, please choose the super score option when taking the test or order afterward through ACT.org. WCU's code is 2254.
    • For SAT requests, please send when taking the test or order afterward through collegeboard.org. WCU's code is 1907.
    • For CLT requests, please send your test scores to WCU through cltexam.com. (CLT scores are not eligible for state financial aid awards.)
  • A final and official high school transcript sent to WCU.*
    • Final and official transcripts are sent after the high school graduation date listed directly from the school to WCU.
    • Home school transcripts are notarized and sent after the student completes high school requirements directly to WCU.
  • Proof of two measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) immunizations emailed to admissions@wmcarey.edu. 1-21 forms are preferred.

Transfer students need:

  • Final and official transcripts from each college with which WCU accepts transfer course credits.*
    • Final: all courses listed have an associated final grade or notification of withdrawal
    • Official: transcript sent to William Carey University from the institution
  • Proof of two measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) immunizations emailed to admissions@wmcarey.edu. 1-21 forms are preferred.

*Sending options accepted for official records are:

  1. Electronic delivery: Electronic delivery is preferred but not always available. Utilize your school's transcript sending procedure. If an email address is needed for electronic delivery, please use admissions@wmcarey.edu.
  2. Physical mail: The school may need to physically mail your transcript. If so, use the following address for WCU - WCU Box 13, 710 William Carey Parkway, Hattiesburg, MS 39401
  3. Hand delivery: Students can hand deliver a transcript to a WCU admissions office location. The document must be retrieved from the school and delivered to WCU in a sealed envelope with an unbroken registrar's stamp or signature over the seal. If you open the envelope, the record will no longer be official.

Academic Planning & Placement Records

The items below are not required for admission consideration, but are necessary for academic planning and evaluation placement:

If you have taken college courses while in high school, Advanced Placement exams, or CLEP exams, contact the college or organization to order individual official records. WCU's transfer of credits policy provides details.

  • College courses: Order an official and final transcript from the institution to be sent directly to William Carey University.* The transcript should show all courses either completed with a grade or notification of withdrawal.
  • Advanced Placement scores: These are ordered through collegeboard.org and are sent to WCU's Registrar's Office.
  • CLEP exam scores: These are also ordered through collegeboard.org and are sent to WCU's Registrar's Office.

Once your application is submitted, you will receive an email notification informing you of the documents and any other additional information you need to have sent to William Carey. Be on the lookout for any email messages from admissions@wmcarey.edu.
