Housing Application

  1. Residence Life & Housing
  2. Housing Application
ATTENTION: All full-time students are required to reside in on-campus housing unless you are age 21 before or during the term, living at home with your parents within a 50-mile radius from WCU, you are married, or you have dependent children who live with you. Students in need of housing accommodations due to a medical condition or disability should email housing@wmcarey.edu, in addition to the Office of Disability Services.

To be able to participate in the housing application process you must apply and be accepted to the University through the Office of Admissions.

Online Application Process:

After you’ve been accepted, granted access to University systems, and set up your Indigo Portal, you may apply for on-campus housing.

Phase

1

Visit Manage My Housing & Dining via Indigo Student Portal

Click on the Manage My Housing link in Indigo Portal to access the housing management portal (THDSS). Log onto THDSS using your WCU student credentials (student email address and password).

Phase

2

Complete the Housing Application & Prepayment

A $150 prepayment is required to finalize your application. Prepayment is payable online via credit card.  From your THDSS homepage, click on the Applications & Housing Agreement tab.  Select and complete the appropriate Housing Application and Housing Agreement based on the trimester you wish to begin residing on campus (Fall, Winter, Spring).
Note: Housing applications for upcoming term will open during week 7 of current term. New incoming students will be able to apply for housing beginning January 1st.

Phase

3

Review your Email Confirmation for Next Steps

The Room Selection process for new fall residents begins on May 15th for the upcoming academic year. This process will conclude on June 30th.

After successful submission of your application, you will receive an email confirmation and timeline for completing the next phases of the assignment process (choosing a roommate and a room). Please read the guidelines and choose your selections accordingly.
Note: All correspondences will be sent to your WCU student email address.

Paper Application Process for International Students
Paper application process is available to international students. International Students are highly encouraged to coordinate with the Office of International Admissions for processing of your housing application in conjunction with your Admissions process. International students’ room assignment will be processed manually per the directions received from the Office of International Admissions.

Paper Prepayment Process

  1. Email us at housing@wmcarey.edu to request a prepayment form.
  2. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your prepayment. Your room selection priority number will be based on the date your housing prepayment was received. Therefore, we highly encourage applicants to apply online via the MyHousing Portal to avoid delays in processing.
  3. Once you are able to access the MyHousing Portal, you will need to complete the remaining phases of the housing application to secure your housing and meal plan assignment.

*Please note that the prepayment process is only available if you are experiencing connectivity issues with the MyHousing Portal.

Cancelling your housing assignment

If you decide not to attend WCU or will not require housing, please email your housing application cancellation request to housing@wmcarey.edu

Notice of Policy

William Carey University reserves the right to enter into any university owned housing, or any student's automobile that is on campus, whether or not the student is a boarding student, with or without the student's presence, for the purpose of maintenance, repairs, inspections, health, safety, fire reasons, or with the reasonable belief that a Federal/State law or University policy has been violated. The search must be made by two or more University officials or security officers. Any evidence related to a violation of any law or university policy that is found in such searches may be seized. In the event that any items are seized, an itemized list of such items will be prepared at the conclusion of the search and signed by all officials present and a copy provided to the student.
