This specialist in Emotional & Behavioral Disorders will prepare teachers to conduct functional assessments and develop behavioral intervention plans, as well as implement, monitor, and instruct children and youth with significant emotional and/or behavioral disorders in educational and clinical settings as well as residential facilities.

Hours

This program is 30 hours and may be completed in as little as 15 months. The program begins each fall and winter term.


Delivery Method

Classes are fully online and designed to be flexible and require no synchronous meetings, making this program ideal for the working student who wants to take their education to the next level. Students will have the opportunity to build a portfolio of materials to use in day-to-day instruction. William Carey uses Canvas as the learning management system for online coursework.  In addition to the course requirements students must complete 300 contact hours with students with emotional and behavioral disorders.


Applicant Prerequisites & Requirements

Prospective students must:

Complete an online application for Graduate Admissions

Submit all official transcripts to Graduate Admissions via eScript

Hold a master’s degree from an accredited college or university

Must have a minimum of a GPA of 3.25 minimum in their qualifying master’s program

Hold or qualify to hold the AA teacher’s license indicating an endorsement in Mild/Moderate Disabilities and provide a copy

Provide two recommendations from current or past supervisors
