Have you taken 12 college credit hours or more at a regionally accredited college university after your high school graduation (or equivalency test)? If so, you are a transfer student! Your entry into WCU will be based on your college GPA. We are looking for a 2.0 or above for admittance, and academic scholarships are distributed with a 2.5 GPA or above.
A maximum of 60-64 academic credit hours earned in a community college may be applied toward a degree at William Carey University. The total is determined by the number of hours required for your chosen bachelor degree path. See our Transfer of Credits Policy for more details.
If you are transferring from a four-year university or college, the last 30 hours of your degree must be taken at WCU.
By using our Transfer Equivalency Tool, you can find out what courses will transfer to Carey. The tool is meant to be a guide for unofficial transfer evaluations. Official transfer evaluations are done upon admittance to WCU. You can also meet with a department representative with your transcripts, and they will be able to guide you.
By selecting your Program of Study on our online catalog, you can compare your course transfer list created with the Transfer Equivalency Tool with the Program of Study checklist to see about how many courses are left in your degree.
The catalog’s digital format allows you to search for academic policies, explore degree plans and courses, and, with the MyCatalog feature, make a personalized catalog of your favorite degree plans and courses. Choose the academic year for the undergraduate catalog of your choice and being your search.
After submitting your application to William Carey University, you can explore the details of WCU’s academic scholarships. Once transcripts have been received in the Office of Admissions and your applicant status is “accepted” or “accepted lacking,” the Financial Aid Office will issue you a scholarship based on your transfer GPA. Your transfer GPA is made up of a combination of credit hours taken and grades earned from regionally accredited colleges or universities.
Athletic and talent scholarships are issued by the faculty sponsor after auditions or portfolio reviews are concluded. Admission eligibility into WCU is required to secure the scholarship.
Mission and ministry scholarships require a public commitment to full-time ministry, and a letter from the church pastor to the Cooper School of Mission and Ministry. Admission eligibility into WCU and a 2.0 GPA is required to secure the scholarship.
