The objective of the graduate programs in higher education administration is to prepare future administrators to carry out the day-to-day management decisions that must be addressed by successful leaders in institutions of higher learning. The programs prepare future college administrators.

The program is 39 hours.


Delivery Method

Classes are offered in a combination of in-person, online, and hybrid formats, making it ideal for the working student who wants to take their education to the next level. William Carey uses Canvas as the learning management system for online coursework.


Tuition

Tuition Discount – In William Carey University's efforts to make earning an advanced degree in Higher Education Administration more affordable, we are offering up to $300 tuition reduction per course.

Tuition Credit – In addition to the tuition discount, community college, college, or university employees are eligible to receive one free course in the specialist program and one free course in the doctoral program. A student must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) hours to be eligible to receive the tuition credit.


Applicant Prerequisites & Requirements

Prospective students must:

Complete an online application & pay application fee

Hold an Ed.S. in Higher Education Administration

Submit official copies of all transcripts to Graduate Admissions via eScript or mailed from the institution

Provide two recommendations from past or current supervisors and a current curriculum vitae

Complete an oral interview

Submit official quantitative, verbal, and written scores on the GRE


Program Tracks

The Ed.D. track prepares students for careers in Educational Leadership, while the Ph.D. track prepares students to pursue careers in Research and Teaching.
