The Department of History and Social Science at our university is dedicated to providing a comprehensive understanding of human societies, past and present. Our programs are designed to foster critical engagement with historical and social scientific literature, theories, and methodologies. We offer degrees in History and Social Science, along with minors in Geography and History, and provide specialized pre-law curricular planning and advisement for students aiming for a career in law.

In partnership with the School of Education, we also prepare future educators through our Master’s programs in History and Education with a concentration in history/social studies education. These programs are tailored to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to inspire and educate the next generation, focusing on creating inclusive and effective learning environments.

Our students benefit from unique learning opportunities that include archival research, international study-travel experiences, and participation in scholarly programs such as colloquia and conferences. These experiences not only enrich their understanding but also prepare them for a wide range of professional paths in education, research, and beyond.
