Institutional aid, by itself, does not qualify a student for any financial refund. If a student receives an amount of institutional aid that exceeds the student's charges on their ledger, the institutional aid will be reduced down to the same amount as the student's charges to equal a zero balance. A student can qualify for a refund if they also have aid from an outside source (federal aid, state aid, external grant, etc.)
William Carey University operates under two 16-week semesters (Fall & Spring) along with one 10-week semester (Summer). To receive institutional aid that requires full-time status, a student must be enrolled in 12 hours per semester. However, due to the shortened timeframe of the Summer semester, a student may be enrolled in 9 hours and receive a prorated amount of their institutional aid during the Summer term (1/3 of the annual amount of their institutional aid). Please note: Students who qualify for a Federal Pell Grant will receive a prorated amount as well for taking fewer than 12 hours during the summer semester.
Students who qualify for the Military Tuition Discount will also have any qualifying institutional aid prorated by the same percentage as the Tuition Discount.
