Carey Dinner Theatre
Carey Dinner Theatre (CDT) will celebrate its 44th season with two musical comedies when “Mississippi unique dinner theatre” opens again this summer.
From the aroma of the catered buffet, through the candlelit meal, to the thrill of the first chords of the overture, CDT offers patrons an all-around entertainment experience with two shows in June and July. Radio Gals, written by Mike Craver and Mark Hardwick, the creative genius behind hits Smoke on the Mountain and Pump Boys and Dinettes, is June 13 – 29; and Peace Like a River, the gospel musical comedy sequel to CDT’s 2011 smash hit Peace in the Valley, is July 9 – 20.
Radio Gals, which runs June 13 – 29, tells the story of Hazel Hunt who receives a transmitter as a retirement and Station WGAL is born in Cedar Rapids, Arkansas. Twenty-one original songs provide the backdrop for this zany musical.
Peace Like a River, which runs July 9 – 20, tells the story of Harmony Valley Church and the confusion that reigns there. Full of lively gospel music and humor, the show is a heartwarming evening for audiences.
The box office opens Monday, June 3 and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 and include tax, show and buffet. For reservations call 601-318-6221. Show are nightly except Sundays and Mondays.
