Exhibition: Fabric Art
Starts: Tuesday, November 9, 2021
Ends: Thursday, December 16, 2021
Where: Lucile Parker Gallery, William Carey University
The Lucile Parker Gallery’s next exhibition, Fabric Art, will be on display Nov. 9 through Dec. 16 on William Carey University’s Hattiesburg campus. The new exhibition features quilt and fiber artwork creations from Martha Ginn, who’s work has been featured throughout the United States.
Ginn’s art focuses on trees, leaves, flowers, and cats. Her love of sewing began as a child where she stitched clothing and various handwork projects. From there, Ginn began making traditional quilts and later helped form Pine Belt Quilters in Hattiesburg. In 1991, the Mississippi Quilt Association formed as a statewide organization, and Ginn served as its first president.
The opening reception for “Fabric Art” is Nov. 9 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Art enthusiasts are also invited to view the exhibition during regular gallery hours. The Lucile Parker Gallery is open weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
